Good News

Even though we had to cancel hardwear.io USA 2020, we couldn't just let go of all the great speakers and innovative submissions we have received. So we came up with the idea to put together an online event and bring you a fun virtual conference with awesome technical talks and interactive activities.

We are preparing an engaging and interactive program to get you more involved in the conversation and discussion with the speakers and each other! We hope you will appreciate this opportunity for all of you hardware ninjas around the globe to connect, chat, learn and have fun!

How is it going to work?

We are using Zoom to host our first ever virtual conference. It’s widely used now for business calls so most of you probably are already familiar with it. We will send you detailed instructions before the conference so you don’t need to worry about figuring it out on your own. We’ll make sure it’s a smooth and easy process and you have an enjoyable experience at the Con!

What to expect?

  • Technical Talks with Q&A from renowned experts
  • Breakout Room Discussions - we're extending the interaction with the speaker after the talk is over and have created a dedicated space where you can engage in the discussion directly with the speaker and your fellow peers
  • Entertaining breaks including music and interviews
  • Chat groups on various topics
  • CTF and Crypto Wall Challenge

What is Breakout Room Session about?

After Q&A session for each talk is over, you'll have a choice to either stay in the Main Track or continue the discussion with the Speakers and a Moderator in the Breakout Room. The Discussion in the Breakout Room is intended to be more interactive so everyone there is invited to use their mic and video to engage in the conversation, ask questions and share your ideas. Make sure to give everyone a chance to speak since the session is only 30 min long!

What you can do at the Virtual Con:

  • Enjoy great talks
  • Engage in the conversation in the chat or directly with speakers and other attendees
  • Take part in CTF and challenges
  • Have a cool topic you want to discuss? Send it in in the chat group, bring it up in the breakout room discussion, keep it going even after the conference.
  • Wear your favourite hacker t-shirt
  • Grab a drink, a snack or a whole meal! We need you full of energy to participate in all the activities.
  • Donate to support the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund

Let’s fight COVID-19 together

The world has rapidly changed in the past couple of months and COVID-19 has impacted all of our lives by now, either people are directly affected or have to take measures to prevent the spread. In any case, we are all in this together.

Hence, we would like to use this opportunity to bring your attention to all the various ways you can show your support and make a difference. We have chosen Google’s initiative to raise funds for the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. For every $1 you donate by April 30, 2020, Google.org will donate $2, up to $5 million, to benefit the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization (through the UN Foundation).

We would like to encourage all of the Virtual Conference participants to donate any amount you are comfortable with and support this great initiative.

[100% of your donation goes to the United Nations Foundation in support of WHO’s global COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.]
